Tuscany by Bike

A great way to see Italy's landscapes, enjoy culture and food is by bike. There are cycling routes that go through lovely countryside and historic towns, and there are routes for all abilities.

Tuscany's hills and vineyards make for great cycling routes, and the region has great bike infrastructure, including special lanes, bike-friendly accommodation and guided tours of cultural highlights. The weather is wonderful in spring and autumn, which is great for cycling!

A bite of Tuscany:

Self-guided tour, suitable for customers who want a bit of activity to combine with other programs. Leisure legs and pace.

Route: Chianti – S.Gimignano – Siena - Chianti

If you join one of our tours while we are in Tuscany, you can choose this “single option”.

Day 1: Arrival in Chianti during the day, rented e-bikes are delivered on site. Meet & Greet with Bike Manager, initial short tour to warm up and test the bikes.

Day 2: Discover the Chianti Classico (loop track)

Day 3: Cycle to San Gimignano via Certaldo, back to Chianti. (loop track)

Day 4: Cycle via Colle di Val d'Elsa and Monteriggioni to Siena back to Chianti. (loop track)

Bikes to be collected in the evening.

Day 5: Departure.

Tour of Tuscany:

Self-guided tour, 8 days / 7 nights suitable for "cyclist" customers who want to discover and enjoy Tuscany.

Route: Chianti – S.Gimignano – Casole d’Elsa – Montalcino – Rapolano/Asciano – Siena

Day 1: Arrival in Chianti during the day. Rented bikes are delivered on site. Meet & Greet with Bike Manager, initial short tour to warm up and test the bikes. Then discover the Chianti Classico (loop track).

Day 2: Take off to San Gimignano via Certaldo. There will be three different tracks depending on the type of bike. (hybrid / gravel / /road).

Stay overnight in S.Gimignano.

Day 3: After breakfast you cycle towards Casole d'Elsa. First stage with the GranPremio della Montagna in Volterra for gravel and road bikes, while the hybrid bikes will pass through the village of Colle di Val d'Elsa.

Overnight stay in Casole d’Elsa.

Day 4: After a good rest, you cycle to conquer the balcony overlooking the Val d'Orcia, Montalcino. It will be the "epic" stage, with sections of the Eroica or Strade Bianche.

Overnight stay in Montalcino (for 2 nights). Accommodation has a swimming pool.

Day 5: Take a break. Loop tracks as an alternative to relaxing by the pool with a view and a glass of Brunello.

Day 6: Well rested, we leave Montalcino for Asciano. The highlights are many, it depends on the type of bike (tour) chosen.

Overnight stay in Asciano.

Day 7: Breakfast and then off to Siena. To better experience the city of the Palio, all different bikes will have a double track, long and short. Bikes will be collected in the evening.

Overnight stay in Siena.

Day 8: Departure.

Suitable for customers who want to enjoy a bit of activity to combine with other programs.
