La “Dolce Vita”our life & travel style

What does “La Dolce Vita” mean to us Italians today?

Sorrento Coast - Our happy place

It is the art of living well with lightness, appreciating simple pleasures like good food and company, and enjoying moments of beauty and relaxation.

This concept is inspired by Federico Fellini's film and Italian culture. It is no longer just the idea of a worldly, hedonistic life, but rather an invitation to slow down and enjoy the present carefree.

The phrase became famous thanks to Federico Fellini's 1960 film of the same name, which depicted a lifestyle full of beauty, art, and pleasure set in Rome.

“La dolce vita” was also the name given to the period of the Italian economic upswing—a time of great social transformation, economic growth, and the birth of high society and Cinecittà cinema industry.

"La dolce vita" today. It is an invitation to enjoy the moment, slow down the hectic pace of life, and appreciate life's good things.

This translates to appreciating the beauty of a landscape, work of art, or a good meal, often in the company of others. It evokes romance, glamour, elegance, and luxury, reflecting the essence of the Italian lifestyle.

It's a spirit of freedom, fun, and ease without the burden of conventions.

A central element is sharing good times with family and friends and celebrating life with good food and wine. This could mean enjoying a long dinner chatting with friends, taking a walk at sunset, or simply relaxing.

It's about noticing and enjoying the little things in life, from a good cup of coffee to a breathtaking landscape.

It could be riding in a vintage car, going on a boat trip, or enjoying the local cuisine—experiencing unique and memorable moments.
